For Christmas this past year I was able to knit one of my coworkers a scarf for my secret Santa gift. It was fun to make something for someone I knew would appreciate it. I found this fun basket weave pattern through Instagram video linked above which helped break down how to do the stitch in the first place. I added two extra stitches to the pattern so I could make sure to be able to do the slipping the first stitch to create a cleaner boarder.

I still believe that I learn something new with each scarf and this is one that I wish I would have started and ended with some type of knit purl sequence so that it didn't have a tendency to roll. I also think moving forward I would lean towards at least 70" scarves over anything shorter since this didn't give my coworker a lot of room to probably wrap it too many times for really cold days. He did seem to really appreciate it though and for that I am truly happy. It's fun to see people really enjoy the things you make them especially when it really is from the heart. I also wish I would have had the pattern a little looser which is something I'm working on still, trying to figure out how to make sure I don't knit certain patterns too tightly.
